“Nathan Pratt was born in Venice Beach and moved to Mar Vista Hill at the age of five. There he rode the hills and schoolyards with classmate Stacy Peralta. Skip Engblom gave young Pratt a job sweeping up and doing ding repairs at the Jeff Ho/Zephyr shop. Nathan then apprenticed under master board builder Jeff Ho learning how to make surfboards from start to finish. Pratt was a founding member of the Z-Boys skate crew and created the famous Zephyr Competition Team shirt design in Venice High School print shop.”
